Places to Visit

Orchardene is close to many stunning attractions, glorious scenery and picturesque villages.

Places worth a visit include the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust at Slimbridge (long time home of Peter Scott), Berkely Castle and the Edward Jenner Museum, Painswick House and the Rococco Gardens. Near-by picturesque Frampton on Severn has the longest village green in England and the shortest cricket boundary.

In Gloucester visit the magnificent Cathedral, used in the filming of Harry Potter, or wander around the Historic Docks and nearby Antique Centre.

Stroud is just 3 miles away and has an award winning Farmers Market every Saturday. Just over the hill is the fascinating unfinished 19th century Woodchester Mansion set in the wonderful setting of Woodchester Park.

If you are feeling adventurous travel further afield to Regency Cheltenham or the Roman City of Bath. Stay with us If you are visiting the area for one of the many festivals, literary or the Gold Cup, held in Cheltenham - we are conveniently just 7 minutes from the M5. Badminton and Gatcombe are also within easy striking distance.

If you are travelling on the M5 we are less than 10 miles from the much acclaimed Gloucester Services, now recommended in the good food guide.
